What are the differences between CNC machining and traditional machining?

2022-04-05 12:36:32

Therefore CNC machining has been widely concerned, but in cost saving, CNC machining is still higher than the cost of traditional processing. Here we will specifically introduce the difference between numerical control processing and traditional machining technology.

1, processing technology

In the ordinary machine processing technology, whether it is the positioning datum, clamping method, cutting tools, cutting methods and other aspects can be simplified, but the data processing technology is more complex, the need to fully consider these factors, and even if the same processing task, NUMERICAL control processing technology can have multiple programs, Multiple processing parts and processing tools can be arranged as the main line of the process, the process has the characteristics of diversification, which is the difference between numerical control processing technology and traditional machining technology.

2, clamping and fixture

In numerical control machining technology, not only the coordinate direction of fixture and machine tool should be relatively fixed, but also the dimension relationship between parts and machine tool coordinate system should be coordinated. In addition, the positioning and clamping steps need to be effectively controlled during the clamping process. And under the traditional machining technology, due to the machine tool's own processing capacity is limited, so it is necessary to carry out multiple clamping in the processing process.

And the need to use special fixture, which leads to fixture design and manufacturing costs are higher, virtually increased the production cost of the product. And CNC machining process positioning can use instruments to debug, in most cases do not need to carry out the design of special fixture, so the cost is relatively low.

3, cutting tool

In the process of processing, the choice of cutting tools needs to be determined according to the different processing technology and processing methods. Especially in numerical control machining, the use of high speed cutting is not only conducive to the improvement of processing efficiency, but also the quality of processing can be guaranteed, effectively reduce the probability of cutting deformation, so that the processing cycle is shortened, so the demand for cutting tools further increases in told cutting.

There is also a dry cutting method, this cutting method in the case of no cutting fluid or only a small amount of cutting fluid cutting, so the tool needs to have good heat resistance. Compared with ordinary machine processing technology, numerical control processing technology has higher requirements on the performance of the tool.
